Summer ascents
Did you know that the ski lifts are also open in the summer?
- In Marilleva there is the Copai - Malga Panciana cable car that starts from Marilleva and climbs to around 1,880 m above sea level.
- In Folgarida you can reach the panoramic point of Malghet Aut at 1,856 m by taking the Folgarida - Malghet Aut cable car.
- From the valley floor in Daolasa the Daolasa - Val Mastellina cable car arrives in Bassetta del Vigo, at 2,043 m above sea level.
In less than an hour from the Hotel the Pejo 3000 in a few minutes can take you to the spectacular glacial views of Ortles-Cevedale, saving you the effort of a really hard climb!
Excursions in Val di Sole
All trails are well marked with the name, number and walking time on red and white SAT signs (Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini- The Society of Tridentine Alpinists) and the trails are visible and easy to follow. Here are just a few…
- Easy: the Gnome trail. Along this path children can discover the mysterious inhabitants of the forest. The trail starts in Pellizzano and arrives at the splendid Lake Caprioli.
- Medium: Mandron mountain hut. A challenging ascent that is repaid by the fantastic view at the top overlooking the glacier.
- Difficult: Vioz mountain hut. Almost 2, 000 metres of elevation gain with sections equipped so you can touch the glacier; an impressive itinerary reserved for well-prepared climbers who have experience at high altitudes.
A fantastic view of the waterfall and lakes

- Easy: Valorz waterfall. Water emerges from a rocky amphitheatre, not to be missed if you want to go for a walk with small children.
- Medium: Cadini waterfall. A wall of water in the middle of the woods to be seen from above from the panoramic view point.
- Demanding: Saent waterfall. In the wild nature of the Stelvio National Park, after a good trek this magnificent waterfall appears: here you can feel the full force of the water.
Do not miss the spectacular lakes in the area, almost 100 of them from between 300 and 3,000 metres above sea level.
- Easy: Lake Caprioli. A small lake that is ideal for families and relaxation in a truly peaceful place.
- Medium: Lake Pian Palù. A blue lake that can be reached on a long circular trekking trail of 4 hours through centuries old larch trees.
- Difficult: Cevedale Lakes. Glacial lakes nestling among the rocks in front of the most famous peak in the valley. A 6 hour walk with a challenging elevation gain… For those that are well prepared it is an unmissable destination!
Equipment and tips
Trails in Val di Sole start at 700 metres above sea level from the valley floor and reach up to 4,000 metres on the highest peaks. The valley is suitable for everyone while high altitudes which are inaccessible and characterized by an unpredictable climate, are only recommended for expert mountaineers.
To be ready for anything we recommend nevertheless to choose your clothing and equipment well, elements that vary depending on the season, the type of excursion and the altitude.
